Our Heritage

Crafting Exceptional Food

Over a century ago, Franco families set their tables with blood sausage, pork cretons, and pork pie. Growing up in a household full of rich culture and prideful heritage, Eugene William Mailhot was no stranger to these ethnic delicacies. In 1910, Eugene founded E.W. Mailhot Sausage Co— a sausage company that didn't make your typical meats, but catered to Franco-Americans with their blood sausage, a Franco-American specialty. As the years went on, the business expanded and ownership changed within the family. By the 1950's, Eugene's son, Robert Mailhot had gained ownership of Mailhot's. By this time, Mailhot's had already started producing many different sausages. However, Robert continued to expand the menu by introducing pork pie, chicken pie, and pork cretons— more traditional dishes that the community loved. With amazing recipes, and a strong community that supported their craft, Mailhot's expanded their reach as Robert's son, Roger gained ownership, and Roger's son, Marc gained ownership later. E.W. Mailhot Sausage Co is owned by Marc Mailhot today. As time has passed, the company has stayed true to its roots, and has remained authentic and delicious every step of the way. Mailhot's products can now be found throughout all of New England, and continue to reach new stores to this day.
